Housing and Residential Life is committed to providing a caring campus living experience for our residents that promotes healthy living. As a part of our efforts, Housing Facilities has taken the following necessary actions to establish enhanced cleaning practices in line with CDC recommendations:

All residents and staff are encouraged to login and complete the Safety Screening Checklist & complete the Return to Campus Check-in on FIU's P3 App each day. Available in the app store: Apple & Android

If you don’t have access to the app on your phone, you can complete it at

Hand sanitizer stations are located at every entrance of every building and on every floor next to elevator buttons, so everyone can sanitize their hands as they exit and enter the building.

  • How we are making move-in different

The check-in process will be in person. After students complete their online check-in, their OneCard will give them access to their unit. Students will only have to interact with the front desk to retrieve the room key for their individual room.

University Apartments will have a tent outside building A for students to pick up keys once they complete their online check-in.

Students are required to sign up for a date to move-in, this will help prevent large crowds from forming.

Students will sign up for a one-hour move-in time slot at -> Student Tools -> Student Housing -> MMC Housing -> Move-in Time Selection. For Fall, students will be able to select a date and time to arrive between from 9am to 7pm each day.

Carts will be available for check-out to assist residents. Carts will be sanitized between users.

Residents and guests are encouraged to wear face coverings indoors at all times during move-in.

  • Expectations for living on campus

All residents are new to on campus housing will not be required to test prior to move in.

Vaccinations are widely available in the US. All residents are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated against COVID 19 before moving in. The Pfizer vaccine is available at FIU for students and eligible members of their households. Face coverings

Individuals are encouraged to maintain a distance of six feet apart.

    Cleaner practices

    Stay informed
