How do I register a device under my account?

What should I do if I have an issue with my WiFi?
Make sure you are connected to the right network for your device. If the issue persists, please create a ticket and provide as much detail as possible so we can troubleshoot the issue.
How can I connect my TV to WiFi?
You must register your device MAC Address in accounts.fiu.edu and try to connect after to FIU_WiFi.
Why is the Ethernet port on the wall not working?
Lakeview North, Tamiami Hall and Panther Hall are the only buildings with an available Ethernet connection through the access points inside each room. For special requests, create a ticket.
How do I connect my printer to the Network?
You must register your device MAC Address in accounts.fiu.edu and try to connect after to FIU_WiFi. If issue persists please follow the manufacturer’s instructions or create a ticket.
Why is the Cable TV port not working?
FIU Housing does not provide any cable TV to rooms, only lounges and common areas.
How can I connect my Gaming Console?
You must register your device MAC Address in accounts.fiu.edu and try to connect after to FIU_WiFi.
For a PlayStation, follow these steps:

On your PS5, go to the Settings menu.
Select Network.
Select Settings.
Select Set Up Internet Connection.
Wait for the initial scan to end.
Press the Options button on your controller to access the advanced menu.
Select 5GHz under Wi-Fi Frequency Bands.
The PlayStation will then re-scan for Wi-Fi networks on the 5GHz band – wait a few seconds.
Select the network you’d like to connect to, and complete setup as usual.
Can I use my own router/WiFi-booster?
No, FIU does not support equipment provided by residents. In addition, it can be harmful to our existing infrastructure.
How do I create an IT ticket?
1. Get the MAC address of your device. Instructions can be found here.
2. After getting the MAC address, create a ticket.
Who do I contact if a kitchen appliance is not working?
Create a work order with Housing Facilities.
