Spring 2027 Housing

The Spring 2027 housing application and waitlist open October 1.

Housing options depend on your student classification. Select the option below that best describes you to get started.

First-Year Student 

Apply for Spring Housing 
Spring housing availability is extremely limited and is not guaranteed. 

Before you apply
You must pay your $200 Admissions Deposit. You will be able to submit your housing application beginning the next business day.

Second-Year Student 

Join the Spring Housing Waitlist 
Housing offers are made as spaces become available, so joining the waitlist does not guarantee housing.

Third- or Fourth-Year Student 

Explore Off-Campus Housing 
On-campus housing is not being offered to third-year and fourth-year students for Spring 2027. 
We encourage you to begin exploring off-campus housing and sublease opportunities.

How to Apply for Spring Housing

 

  • Step 1
    Pay Your Admissions Deposit

    Pay your $200 Admissions Deposit before applying for housing.
    Housing access is available the next business day.
  • Step 2
    Go to the Housing Portal

    Log in to my.fiu.edu and select:
    Student Tools → Student Housing
  • Step 3
    Complete Housing Application

    Submit your housing application and submit your room preferences 

What Happens After You Apply? 

Joining the waitlist for on-campus housing does not guarantee a Spring housing assignment. Because Spring housing availability is limited, students should continue monitoring their FIU email for housing updates and consider alternate housing options while awaiting an assignment. 

All room offers are communicated through the student's FIU email account and include room type, applicable housing rate, and deadline for completing the agreement. 

If space becomes available on campus, students will be contacted in the order of their waitlist application.  

Priority is given to students residing outside of Miami-Dade County and Broward County. Once out-of-area students have been assigned, offers are extended to students residing within the South Florida tri-county area. 
 
Already submitted your housing agreement? 
Students who submit housing agreements will be assigned based on availability. Students will be notified to their FIU email once they have been notified. Assignments will also be available on the housing portal. 

Spring move in appointment time will be available in mid-November.

Available Housing Options 

Unless you are honors-eligible and have a signed agreement and room assignment in Parkview Honors, you are not eligible for this housing option.

Bayview Student Living at FIU BBC 

Bayview Student Living currently has availability and is billed directly to the student account. A free shuttle service is provided between FIU campuses. This option may be especially suitable for students majoring in Hospitality or Marine Biology.

The One at University City Student Apartments 

Currently accepting residents, The One at University City is located directly across the street from FIU’s Modesto Maidique Campus (MMC).

Off-Campus Housing Resources 

FIU partners with College Pads to provide a comprehensive off-campus housing listing website featuring student-friendly rental options near campus.

  • Identity Miami 
  • Lapis 
  • Terrazul

If space becomes available on campus, students will be contacted in the order of their waitlist application. Priority is given to students who live outside the greater Miami-Dade and Broward County areas.
