Summer Camps & Youth Groups: Stay + Play at FIU

Between June 15 - August 2, 2026, FIU opens its residence halls to non-FIU students for summer programs. FIU welcomes youth camps with participants ages 13-18 to reside in our on-campus facilities.

For recreational inquiries (gym memberships, sports fields) contact the Wellness and Recreation Center: wrc@fiu.edu. Youth groups interested in using the pool must submit a request in advance through the Wellness and Recreation Center. Pool access is available only during pre-approved, private reservation times and cannot overlap with general recreation hours.
For meeting spaces around campus (classrooms, meeting rooms, conference rooms, etc), contact the Central Reservation Office: centralreservations@fiu.edu.

For Summer 2026, FIU’s Conference Housing for youth camps will offer housing accommodations in either our Lakeview South Hall or Everglades Hall.

Lakeview South Hall

Lakeview South consists of 11 wings with a capacity of 40 beds per wing across 6 floors. Each wing has a combination of private and shared bedroom suites.

Everglades Hall

Everglades Hall consists of 12 wings with a capacity of 30 beds per wing across 6 floors. Each wing offers private bedroom suites only.

Rental rates available upon request. Please submit inquiry form above for request or contact our Housing office during business hours for rental rate.

Rates include use of room, furniture, guest Wi-Fi, and utilities. Rates do not include toiletries, linens, or towels unless specified.

Groups requesting the nightly rate without tax must provide the proper documentation regarding tax-exempt status prior to requesting a quote.

Other charges include lost key - $100.00 and lost swipe card- $5.00.

Parking is available at an additional fee for chaperones. More information pending.

To stay in on-campus housing, a 7-night minimum stay is required for the participants.
13 years of age is the minimum age for a participant/camper to reside on-campus.
- ACA standards require different ratios for varying ages and special needs. Generally, the ratios at resident camps range from one staff for every eight campers ages 9 to 14; and one staff for every 10 campers ages 15 to 18.
Minors should not leave the building unaccompanied past 10pm while residing on campus.
Chaperones must be 18 years or older.
50% deposit of total charges is required at time of signing the contract.
- Final deposit is due 30 days prior to move-in.
Must obtain and provide proof of property and general liability insurance. Must be provided with completed contract and 50% deposit. Please review sample document below for guidance on how to complete requested Certificate of Insurance form.

Youth group coordinator agrees that it will ensure that a Level II criminal background check pursuant to Florida Statutes, Section 435.04, will be conducted for all staff working with minors.
Must have each minor and guardian/parent sign a Medical Authorization form before the start of the program (found in FIU Summer Conference contract). Each overnight adult chaperone or staff member must also provide a signed Medical Authorization form. Must be provided with final roster.
A Release, Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk Form must be completed by the parent or legal guardian of each minor. Each adult chaperone or staff member must also provide a signed Release, Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk Form (found in FIU Summer Conference contract). Must be provided with final roster.
Final camp roster must be submitted 5 business days prior to the first check-in. Failure to provide the list on time will result in additional fees.
