Youth Groups

Between June 14 - August 1, FIU opens its residence halls to non-FIU students for summer programs. FIU welcomes youth camps with participants ages 13-18 to reside in our on-campus facilities.

FIU’s housing halls offer 24/7 desk coverage as well as live-on staff who are available for any support your program or participants may need. Other on-campus facilities within walking distance include the dining hall, classrooms, recreation services, and recreation lounges.

Additionally, FIU is located in the heart of Miami. If you are looking for activities to entertain your participants, there are several options available down the road from FIU such as Dolphin or International Mall, Frost Museum of Science, Bird Bowl, Zoo Miami, and Miami Children’s Museum just to name a few options. If you want to experience the beach, we are only 30 minutes away from South Beach!

Lakeview South consists of 11 wings with a capacity of 40 beds per wing across 6 floors. Each wing has a combination of private and shared bedroom suites.

Rates include use of room, furniture, Wi-Fi, and utilities. Rates do not include toiletries, linens, or towels unless specified.

Groups requesting the nightly rate without tax must provide the proper documentation regarding tax-exempt status prior to requesting a quote.

Other charges include lost key - $65.00 and lost swipe card- $5.00.

Parking is available at an additional fee for chaperones. More information pending.

To stay in on-campus housing, a 7-night minimum stay is required for the participants.
13 years of age is the minimum age for a participant/camper to reside on-campus.
- ACA standards require different ratios for varying ages and special needs. Generally, the ratios at resident camps range from one staff for every eight campers ages 9 to 14; and one staff for every 10 campers ages 15 to 18.
Chaperones must be 18 years or older.
50% deposit of total charges is required at time of signing the contract.
- Final deposit is due 30 days prior to move-in.
Must obtain and provide proof of property and general liability insurance. Must be provided at check-in.

Youth group coordinator agrees that it will ensure that a Level II criminal background check pursuant to Florida Statutes, Section 435.04, will be conducted for all staff working with minors.
Must have each minor and guardian/parent sign a Medical Authorization form before the start of the program (found in FIU Summer Conference contract).
A Release, Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk Form must be completed by the parent or legal guardian of each minor. Each adult chaperone or staff member must also provide a signed Release, Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk Form (found in FIU Summer Conference contract).
Final camp roster must be submitted 5 business days prior to the first check-in. Failure to provide the list on time will result in additional fees.
